  • The Harley-Davidson Sportster was first introduced in 1957. The Sportster is a lightweight motorcycle that can be customised to fit your needs. There are over 2 million riders who own Sportsters, making it one of the bestselling motorcycles in history.
  • The first Harley Davidson Chopper was built by William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson in 1903. It started out as a small company with only 12 employees, but soon became one of the largest producers of motorcycles in the world. In 1915, they released their first V-Twin engine which would become their signature sound for years to come.
  • They made their first major Harley Davidson Chopper sale in 1908 when they sold 22 motorcycles to the U.S. Army for use during World War I, who used them as training vehicles on bases across the United States during this time period.
  • The Sportster wasn't always called the Sportster. It used to be called the Model A after its engine size until 1965 when it was renamed Sportster due to trademark issues with AMF (American Machine & Foundry Co.), who manufactured bicycles under the name "Sportster".
  • In 1957, Harley-Davidson introduced their Sportster model which had a price tag of $596 (about $5,000 today). This model quickly became popular among younger generations due to its affordability and customisation options allowing people to make it their own style bike!
